Savor the waning days of summer and the bounty of our area with a special evening at the Phelps-Hatheway House!
A pie contest will begin the celebrations on Friday, September 9 at 5 p.m. Entries will be accepted at the Visitor’s Center beginning at 4 p.m. The lucky winners will take home a prize and an individual or family membership to Connecticut Landmarks’ (CTL) historic properties.
An all-town picnic on our front lawn will follow the judging at 5:30 p.m. Bring a dish made with local ingredients and a place setting. A salad from our new raised beds (donated to the House by the Friends of Suffield!) and refreshments will be provided.
After dinner, join our costumed guides on a twilight tour of the historic property. Lanterns will lead you through the dimly lit corners of the House and transport you to the time before electricity illuminated our homes.
