On April 27, 61 Suffield High School students were inducted into the World Language Honor Society: 47 into the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica and 14 into the Société Honoraire de Français, respectively. The World Language Honor Society is dedicated to encouraging cultural diversity and appreciation throughout the school and engages students in numerous activities throughout the year to promote global learning.

French students were the first to be inducted into the Society by current members and recited the motto of the Société Honoraire de Français-“L’homme qui sait deux langues, en vaut deux” (“The man who knows two languages is worth two men”) – while holding a candle that received its flame from the mother candle of the Society. The following students were inducted into the Société Honoraire de Français: Alexia Alfaro, Hannah Chawla, Amy Colson, Emily Fabrizi, Shannon Frechette, Kaitlin Greco, Sarah Johnston, Amanda Martin-Ryan, Manny Meleounis, Madison Morelli, Chloe Nardi, Molly Poirier, Matthew Skoczylas, and Jessica Wessner. All of the newly inducted members of the French Honor Society then recited the oath of the chapter and a poem celebrating the beauty of the language, both in French.

The induction of the new members of the Spanish Honor Society followed, and the students also recited the motto of their society –“Todos a Una!” (“All for one!”) – while holding a candle. The following students were inducted into the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica: Shreedula Balakrishnan, Tessa Basile, Blake Baskin, Peyton Beiter, Anna Casinghino, Elina Chae, Julia Coleman, David Danek, Dario DeCosmo, Julia DeLuca, Kelley Dias, John Dion, Ashley Drake, Julia Drinan, Fatima Elmokaddem, Kyle Englander, Ekaterina Fraser, Madison Gadomski, Camryn Gallagher, Benjamin Grigoriou, Michael Grigoriou, Julia Hart, Ziad Hassan, Tabitha Hinkle, Lindsey Kasperski, Samantha Kawalec, Jared Lobo, Caitlin Lucido, Sophie Lupone, Anthony Marmo, Camden Miller, Cooper Mitzel, John Nadeau, Alec Pryce, Payton Salvaggio, Haley Sinon, Tyler Stanio, McKenzie Sullivan, Sydney Sullivan, Brooke Tillotson, Cathryne Tronsky, Sydney Urch, Jeremy Walch, Bruce Wilson, Alyssa Zawawi, Gabrielle Zeller and Rabi Zulfiquar. As with the French Honor Society, the Spanish students recited the oath and a poem, led by the president and vice president of the Society, together. All of the new members then received certificates for their achievements in their respective languages from their teachers and enjoyed refreshments while celebrating their success with their friends and families.
