The staff of the Observer sends a fond farewell to Scott Dunn, Principal of A. Ward Spaulding Elementary School. As Scott heads for his new position in the Wolcott School in West Hartford, we at the paper will miss his pictures and articles about the students and faculty of Spaulding. When he took over the reins at the school, he also took full responsibility for the public relations aspect of his job.
We were always notified of various activities that happened at Spaulding so we didn’t have to seek out material for the school section of the paper. Scott did a wonderful job of keeping us informed and was the greatest resource for letting the public know about the workings of the school. Through his work he has shown us that Spaulding Elementary School is more than an elementary pre-K through Grade 2 institution, but a school for the very young that rewards good citizenship and positive relationships.
We wish Scott well in his new job and we thank him for his hard work in keeping us and thus the community well informed as principal of Spaulding.
