p05_Clipart_EMS_LogoA grant of $25,000 has been awarded by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association. This grant has been used toward the purchase of a Ferno INX Inline stretcher.

Suffield Ambulance sincerely thanks Michael J. Zak, advisor for the Amiel P. Zak Public Service Fund at the Hartford Foundation, for this very generous gift.

With the grant, Suffield Volunteer Ambulance has purchased a Ferno INX Inline stretcher for our new ambulance, which will be delivered in June. The Ferno INX stretcher lifts patients weighing up to 700 pounds, without requiring the ambulance crew to lift the patient, even when loading into the ambulance. These new stretchers have a tremendous effect on reducing lost time or even career-ending accidents relating to back injuries suffered by ambulance crews. Highly maneuverable and stable, patient safety and comfort is also maximized. A video of the stretcher in use can be viewed at http://www.fernoems.com/inx/inxbenefits.
