Gina Martin is an enterprising young woman as well as a fine clinician, and we are fortunate that she has chosen Suffield as the new site for her practice, Inner World Nutrition. She is a registered dietitian/nutritionist, licensed in both Connecticut and Massachusetts, with excellent credentials from the University of Massachusetts and with a wide range of experience. She has served clients of many age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics. She has worked with individuals at Suffield House, for instance, and with children in conjunction with a pediatrician’s care. Health and fitness have long been her primary interests.

Gina chose Suffield as the location for her practice because she likes the small town, friendly feel of the place, and also because she sensed here an awareness of, and interest in, a healthy life style. She addresses issues of obesity, type two diabetes, and heart conditions; she helps those with special dietetic requirements stemming from medical diagnoses such as food allergies; she counsels those wishing to lose weight; and she helps those who simply want to improve the quality of their food intake. She does not sell supplements or promote any of the diets so popular these days, but relies on a sensible eclectic philosophy.

As a professional, Gina is non-judgmental and eager to work as a partner with each person who enlists her help. There is no dogmatism in her approach; instead, she is responsive to each individual’s needs and preferences. Her holistic world view enables her to tailor every plan, taking into consideration a person’s life style, schedule, and food preferences. Her goal is to help people improve their lives for the long term by establishing good eating habits that are not extreme and therefore can last. She accomplishes all of this in a non-clinical atmosphere in her office next door to the Pilgrim Barber Shop in the center of town on High Street.

Finally, like many other young mothers, Gina is balancing her professional life with her personal and family life. Needless to say, the Suffield school system is important to her! For that reason she is in and out of her new office here, but can be easily reached for appointments at 860-370-5117 or 860-652-5719.
