The Pinney Gallery of the Kent Memorial Library, operating in temporary quarters at 61 Ffyler Place, will host two shows in November and December sponsored by the Suffield Arts Council.

Deborah Pileika, a local artist, is passionate about recycling and repurposing and has created works of art with this philosophy in mind. Her work will be featured from November 1 through November 22.

These unique and one of a kind pieces are created using paper from various publications and scraps of fabric, fibers and threads from her fabric projects. Once layered with glass, static electrifies the fibers creating a three dimensional effect.

Deborah has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Kean University located in New Jersey, and specializes in custom window treatments, slipcovers and upholstery.

Much of the artwork is inspired by nature, which Deb finds in her surroundings.

Deborah currently lives in West Suffield, CT and enjoys spending time on the Cape. She will be one of the artists featured in the Suffield Artists 2nd Annual Open Studio Tour on December 2.

Work of several Suffield and West Suffield artists who are participants in the 2nd Annual Open Studio Tour on December 2, will be featured in the Pinney Gallery from November 24 through January 2.
