We have a variety of fun, new programs for youth and families this winter at the Parks and Recreation Department. For a full listing of all of our programs and to register, please visit www.suffieldrec.com.

Gymnastics

Does your child love gymnastics or want to give it a try? Your child will “flip” over our fun program taught by Heather and Brian Casinghino. It is a great introductory program that teaches both boys and girls the basic skills of gymnastics. The program will be held in the Middle School Gym on Thursdays and Fridays-March 1,2,8,9,15 (snow date Friday, March 16) from 5:45-7:15 p.m. for children in Grades 3-5. Registration deadline is on Sunday, February 25.

Coloring Contest!

We are looking for aspiring young artists! The Parks & Recreation Departments annual Winter Coloring Contest will be held during the month of February for children ages four through nine.

This popular event allows children to demonstrate their coloring creativity and artistic talent.

The winning entries will be displayed in the lobby of the Parks & Recreation department. Residents are encouraged to stop by and visit the art work between February 27 and March 5.

The official entry form is available at suffieldrec.com, click on Forms, and will also be available on the schools virtual backpack. The deadline to submit an entry is Monday, February 26. You can also stop by the Parks & Recreation department for a blank form.

The top winners in each age group receive ribbons and prizes.

Bowling Buddies

The Suffield Parks and Recreation Department’s Bowling Buddies group celebrated at their annual Holiday banquet on Tuesday, December 19. It was held at the Suffield Country Club Sunset Tavern again this year and it was a great location for the function. It was a festive and fun-filled evening with singing, dancing and enjoying delicious food. The Sunset Tavern at the Suffield Country Club is a perfect spot to host a party, have a gathering or go to dinner; the food was delicious and the setting was decorated beautifully.

If you are interested in joining the bowling/outing group as a bowler, special partner or assistant coach, please contact Donna Carney-Bastrzycki, at 860-668-3862. We practice every Tuesday at Bradley Bowl, 4:30-7 p.m. and also go on many fun outings throughout the year. The group is geared for participants age 14 through adult. You must pre-register for this program.

Volunteers are always needed and welcome!!
