Anna Mervosh

Congratulations to Anna Mervosh, who has been chosen for the Rotary Student of the Month for January.

Anna is a senior and an Honors student at Suffield High School and has been involved in many extracurricular activities. She is a co-captain on the Academic Quiz Team, where she has participated in “As Schools Match Wits” and the National History Bowl in Washington. She plays the piano in the jazz ensemble at Suffield High School. She is also a Writing Center Coach, where she helps students in all grades to better understand their writing and how to improve it.

Anna is a member of the National Honor Society, where she is the recording secretary and President of the World Language (Spanish) Honor Society this year.

Over the years, Anna has received many academic awards in English, Algebra, Science, History, Spanish and Chemistry. At last year’s undergraduate awards, she received the Delmar F. Sisson Memorial Award for excellence in American History. She has also received awards in Fit for Life, Fashion, Life Ed, Yoga and the PSAT Math and PSAT Writing award. Last year, Anna was chosen  as the World Language Student of the Month. She has also received awards for Responsibility, PE Student of the Month, and the Gettysburg College Book Award.

Anna is a Girl Scout Senior and Ambassador. She also volunteers her time at the Suffield Observer, where she proofreads articles to prepare them for publication. With this very busy schedule, she finds time to work at Kent Memorial Library where she re-shelves books and checks out materials for patrons. She also led the children’s crafts at the library this past summer. Anna plans to attend college in the fall to major in Political Science or History.

As you can clearly see, Anna Mervosh was the perfect choice for Rotary Student of the Month for January.
