Welcome spring and Connecticut Landmarks’ 2018 season! The Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden is delighted to welcome Lynda Montefusco to our gallery with her exhibition, A Stroke of Color. The exhibit includes a selection of Lynda’s favorite paintings which explore various themes and techniques.

On Friday, May 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., meet Lynda, enjoy her colorful works, and discuss her passion for painting while sampling an elderflower spritzer and spring treats.

Admission to the Opening Reception is free. Art will be available for sale, and a special introductory discount on membership for the season will be offered!

The exhibition is accessible to the public during regular museum hours from Satuday, May 5 through Sunday, October 28. Admission is free, regular admission applies for house tour. A portion of the proceeds from art sales will benefit the Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden.

Lynda Montefusco, owner of A Stroke of Color Art Studio in Suffield, provides artistic instruction to people of all ages. She has been teaching for 38 years, 17 years out of her studio. Her artistic expertise encompasses a number of mediums, including oils, acrylics, pen and ink, colored pencils, and pastels. Lynda has a teaching degree in Fine Arts from the University of Hartford and is a Certified Instructor in Floral and Still Life through professional artist and art instructor Robert Warren of Ohio. She graciously donates her time and art supplies to senior citizens in our community and has sponsored seminars and workshops, often from nationally known artists, for students of all levels and ages. Her studio in Suffield’s Masonic Hall remains a hub for artistic expression in the center of town.
