The Suffield Foundation for Excellent Schools will hold its first annual “Family Fun Day” on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Copper Hill Golf Club located at 20 Copper Hill Drive, East Granby. Spend one of the last few days before school starts enjoying activities geared to all ages. For the serious golfers, there will be nine holes of classic golf; for those age eight and above without clubs but having two feet, there will be the challenge of nine holes of foot golf, a fun sport that combines golf and soccer and involves kicking a soccer ball into a 21” cup on the golf course. In addition, there will be a barbecue buffet, bounce houses, face painting, a dunk tank, a tea cup raffle, and crafts centering around the theme of our March 2019 gala “Fire and Ice” to make and take home. For those unfamiliar with the SFES, there will be an exhibit showing some of the grants and programs that the educational foundation has funded. The event is being generously underwritten by Windsor Federal (platinum sponsor), Markowski Dental and Suffield Veterinary Hospital (gold sponsors) and Hastings Farm and Jim Zien of Ameriprise Financial, P.A. The event kicks off (pun intended) at 10 a.m. rain or shine and runs until 2 p.m. Preregistration is required as the golf availability is limited, so don’t miss out, get your registration in early! The cost for a foursome of classic golf including two carts and the buffet is $200; for a foursome of footgolf and the buffet, the cost is $120. Individual buffet tickets which allow you to participate in all the other activities are $20 per person. Come say goodbye to summer with your friends and family at an event that is sure to please.
