Interim Superintendent Appointment is Brief

Michelle Zawawi, former Suffield School Board member and principal of Rockville High School, is pictured after she had taken the position of Suffield’s new assistant superintendent of Schools. On August 6, she was also named interim superintendent, understood to be temporary, after Superintendent Karen Berasi was placed on administrative suspension. Then on August 15 the School Board named Mark Winzler to the interim position. Winzler, a former school superintendent in Bolton, has in recent years assisted a number of towns as interim superintendent.
