Congratulations to Camden Miller and Cathryne Tronsky who were chosen as the Rotary Students of the month for September and October, respectively.

Camden Miller

Camden is a senior at Suffield High School and plans to attend college next year majoring in math, while also pursuing the pre-med track. Cam states, “I want to attend medical school after college and become a doctor in the future. This goal is supported by my love for science and math and my enjoyment of classes in calculus, chemistry and biology.”

Cam keeps very busy with many extracurricular activities such as Student Council/Student Senate, Wildcat Advisory Group, Spanish Honor Society, Interact Club, CTE Advisory Group and National Honor Society, where he is currently the Vice President. Cam also participates in indoor and outdoor track and cross country, and was chosen captain of these teams during his junior year. He has received the Coach’s Award, and has been named All-Conference twice on the Cross Country Team and twice on the Outdoor Track Team. Cam was also the recipient of the Richard R. McCarty Memorial Award for Athletic/Academic Leadership.

Academically Cam has continually been on the High Honor Roll every quarter of his high school career. He has been invited each year to the Scholars’ Breakfast and has received several awards such as Integrity Student of the Month (twice), CABE Student Leadership Award, Yale Book Award, as well as awards in Integrated Science, Foods, International Studies, Spanish and several awards from the Math Department.

In his spare time, Cam volunteers for Meals on Wheels, Catholic Youth Group clean up, Lunch Bunch, Special Olympics, ringing the Salvation Army bell, election day volunteering, hospital volunteering, Suffield on the Green, and many NHS community service events.

Cathryne Tronsky

Cathryne is a senior in our Agriscience Program at Suffield High School and plans to attend college next year to further her knowledge in the Veterinary sciences field. Cathryne is an honors student and has received awards for her academic excellence. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the World Language Honor Society.

Cathryne received the FFA Mission Growth Award and won 1st place in the State Poultry CDE. Cathryne runs a small family farm and takes care of over 100 animals. Some of the things she is responsible for to name a few are developing a feeding schedule to complement the animals’ needs, properly grooming the different species and doing research on the plants/food that are toxic to certain animals.

In her spare time, Cathryne works with Triple T Fencing to install RAMM Fencing within New England. Finally, Cathryne holds the FFA/4-H position on the Stafford Agricultural Advisory Commission. Her duty is to give a student view on the agricultural decisions made within the towns.

The Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” is exemplified by all that has been accomplished by Camden and Cathryne at Suffield High School and beyond. It is clear to see why they were chosen as Rotary Students of the Month. Congratulations, Cam and Cathryne!
