The annual Silver Tea will be held at West Suffield’s Academy Hall (1499 Mountain Road) on Saturday, December 1 from 1 to 4 p.m.

An Evening with Edgar Allen Poe

The Suffield Historical Society will meet on Wednesday, September 19 at 7 p.m. at the Suffield Senior Center. 

Guest speaker, Campbell Harmon, will perform in character The Tell-Tale Heart and The Raven. 

He will also talk about Edgar Allen Poe’s life and the profound influences his work had on American literature.

Join Us for Ice Cream!

The Suffield Historical Society’s annual Ice Cream Social will be held on Tuesday, July 10 on the lawn at the King House Museum from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Bring a picnic supper to enjoy before dessert. Invite friends and neighbors for a laid- back evening of sociability.

Academy Hall Open for Rentals

Academy Hall, in West Suffield center, is open April through November for rentals. Built in 1855 as the Center District schoolhouse, it is an ideal spot to host a party or reception, with large rooms and a full kitchen.

Suffield’s Past in Photographs

Curator Lester Smith and Trustee Anne Borg will host their annual picture show at the Suffield Historical Society’s June 13 meeting at the Senior Center at 7 p.m.

1818 Connecticut State Convention

The Suffield Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 16 at 7 p.m. at the Suffield Senior Center. Guest speaker will be State Historian Walter Woodward who will tell the tale of treasonous times, angry politics and the Convention of 1818 that changed Connecticut’s Standing Order.
