The Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden will re-open on Saturday, May 1 for its 49th season! Many repairs and enhancements have been completed, including our 18th-century Pine Room basement, which has been cleared and stabilized (you might like a peek!).
During the first week of December, the staff and friends of the Phelps-Hatheway House will begin to deck the halls for a very special holiday season in our historic setting.
Although September brings cooler temperatures and shorter days, the Hatheway garden remains equally vibrant and lovely as the summer wanes. Please join us for two unique events in the garden!
The staff of the Phelps-Hatheway House invites you to join them on Sunday afternoons in August, starting at 2 p.m. Noted scholars in the fields of historic gardening, woodworking and Native American culture will present a lecture followed by summer treats. Tours of the historic museum are included in admission.

Welcome spring in all its glory with the annual Mother’s Day Tea on Sunday, May 13 at 2 p.m. at the Phelps-Hatheway House! Each year, our costumed staff welcomes guests to our historic house for a splendid repast of tea sandwiches, scones with homemade lemon curd and jam, quiche, fresh fruit, a seasonal cake, and many pots of tea to lift the spirits and usher in the spring.
