Competing teams concentrate on their answers at Trivia Night at Suffield High School. The popular event on May 17 raised funds for the Dustin Doyon and Brianna Mailloux memorial scholarships.

Each school year the Suffield High School Chick-fil-A Leader Academy is challenged with completing an “Impact Project” to benefit the community and to practice their leadership skills. This year the group, made up of 30 sophomores and juniors, decided to put on a Trivia Night to benefit the Dustin L. Doyon Memorial and the Brianna Mailloux Scholarship funds. It was an incredibly successful night.

The Trivia Night was held Friday, May 17 at 6 p.m. on the Suffield High School grounds.

Twenty-one teams of six to eight people each consisted of mostly high school students, their parents, and three teacher teams – one from Suffield High School, one from Suffield Middle School and one from McAlister Intermediate School.

Mr. Tom Brown was the host for the night, announcing the questions for each of the ten rounds of trivia. Questions included sport, geography, celebrities, television and movies, food, U.S. history, music and miscellaneous rounds.

DJ John Nadeau provided tunes throughout the night creating a fun atmosphere for all to enjoy.

The event also featured a silent auction for four tickets to a Boston Red Sox game and four tickets to a New York Yankees game. There was also a raffle for three great prizes, including a flat screen television.

Delicious food, consisting of pasta, chicken marsala, salad and pizza was generously provided by the Suffield Country Club, Zanto’s and Suffield Pizza.

In the end, more than $3,500 was raised for the scholarship funds and everyone seemed to enjoy their Friday night together. The winning team, ‘The Red Stocks,” was made up of seven students in Mr. Dudeck’s AP Economics class.
