Proprietor Leidy Diaz communicates with her very fluffy Persian Godiva, perched on a work table at Bark-N-Bubbles, the convenient new dog grooming station at Suffield Village.

When I opened the door, it felt like I had stepped inside a spa! The soft pink curtain and gray walls are accented with an aromatherapy machine, sending gentle waves of scent and a distinctly relaxed feeling. And then a magnificent white Persian cat came to say hello, as it brushed by me as if to say welcome.

The owner of this dog grooming business is Leidy Diaz, who along with her mother, Martha, runs the shop. This atmosphere of calm and quiet is unusual in my experience with groomers. Perhaps this explains why the dog being groomed while I was there was patiently accepting being washed, clipped, and brushed.

Bark-n-Bubbles works with only two dogs at one time. Leidy explained that this way of doing business is what sets her apart from other groomers. The calm environment helps dogs to tolerate their grooming more peacefully. Leidy’s customers say that she takes unusually good care of the “clients”. She takes them out for brief walks, as needed, and sets up a schedule, which allows for this slower grooming pace.

Leidy is quite a dog lover, having a group of her own at home. She and her mother moved to Suffield about nine months ago. They have brought with them clients from their previous location in Massachusetts and have made new friends here in Suffield.

Leidy said that she uses only organic products on their dog/clients. She and Martha work together Tuesday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., in Suffield Village, to the left of Highland Park Market. They can be reached by phone at 860-386-6631 or by text at 860-816-9194.
