Flagpole Fixed Fast

Did you wonder why the flag at Veterans Park remained at half-mast long after other flags mourning El Paso and Dayton had returned to the peak? The lanyard had become stuck, so the two proprietors of Patriot Supply in Somers came on August 19, lowered the pole, and fixed the hoist mechanism. Here Jim Henderson is soaping the pole as the truck backs up carefully, pushing the pole to pivot on its hinge and be bolted back vertical.
