A happy crew is pictured at Highland Park Market after a very satisfying shoe collection. From the left: SWC President Lisa Pepe, Officer Richards, member Sue Ledger, Officer Vanek, member Joanne Sullivan, State Rep. Tami Zawistowski, SWC VP Dian Friedman. Missing from photo: member Renée Wood.

The Suffield Woman’s Club (SWC) partnered with the Suffield Police Department on Saturday, August 24 to collect shoes for Soles4Souls, an organization that sends shoes to adults and children in need around the world. In addition to the 437 pairs of shoes collected, more were purchased with the generous donations given that day for a total of 445 pairs shipped! The Club would like to thank Suffield Village, LLC, and SPD Officers Richards and Vanek for all their help and the SWC members for volunteering their time. A very special thanks goes to all the people who stopped by with their shoe donations. You are the ones who made it such a successful event.

The SWC will meet on Tuesday, October 8, at the Father Ted Hall at noon for the first meeting of the 2019-2020 year. Cartoonist Rick Stromoski will be our guest speaker. We will be collecting items for ‘birthday bags’ to be given to Suffield Community Aid and The Network. If you are interested in membership, contact Jean Neagle at 860-668-1876.
