Do you know your way around a sewing machine? An Instant Pot? Do you do your own bike repair? Have you mastered your bonsai tree?

Or maybe you just learned how to play the mandolin, or like to yodel for a captive audience. Would you prefer to perform moving recitations of “The Raven”? Shakespeare soliloquies?

The Library loves to bring programs to you that make you laugh, think, learn, wonder or just pass the time. But we also know there are lots of you who love to create, teach and share your skills and talent…and we’d love to help you do just that. We have a great program space/art gallery where we hold hands-on instructional workshops, group discussions and trivia games, as well as an auditorium/theater to hold lectures, demonstrations and performances.

Are you a financial whiz, eager to improve the financial literacy of Suffield’s young adults? Help families find tax breaks? Are you an attorney or judge interested in holding Q and A sessions about legal resources? A college administrator who can talk to teens about the college application process? An avid traveler dying to show your slides and tell their stories?

The library invites enthusiasts, experts and know-it-alls to come share their wisdom and passion with the community.

If you’d rather participate than lead, we’ve got all kinds of great programs on the calendar! In addition to our weekly story times and movies, in February we’ll be celebrating Winter Reading – each week that you read, come in and fill out a raffle ticket for a prize! We’ll also be visited by some real live possums for a program with the Ferncroft Wildlife Rehabilitators on February 4.

In March, we’ve got Irish Dancing with Scoil Rince Luimni Irish Dance Academy and a “Trees for Suffield” Creative Writing Workshop.

KML also provides free confidential consultations with a Social Worker every Thursday, by appointment. You can get help with and learn more about caring for a loved one, legal issues, aging parents or grandparents, state and federal forms, social security applications and so much more.

Program details and registration can be found on our Event Calendar: https://www.eventkeeper.com/mars/xpages/S/SUFFIELD/ekpmonth.cfm

And if you have ideas for programs you’d like to see, things you want to learn about, or services that will help you and your family, be sure send them our way. We can reach out to all kinds of people and groups to bring the lessons, lectures or music you’d like to see at your library.
