Girl Scouts’ Holiday Boutique

Nearly 100 Suffield Girl Scouts gathered on Saturday, October 10 to share some holiday joy with one another at their first Annual Holiday Boutique. Tenth grade Senior-level Girl Scout Beatrice Marcavitch coordinated the event with the help of her dad, Aaron Marcavitch, and Junior Girl Scout Troop 10991.

Isabella Huiber, Ella Kettles, Payten Benito, Leader Erica Boucher and Annalise Boucher, all of Girl Scout Troop 11963, are ready for customers at their Holiday Boutique hot chocolate bar. Proceeds are being used to purchase gifts to donate to children in need.

All troops were invited to make gifts to be sold at the boutique. Items included hot chocolate kits, Christmas and Hannukah ornaments, painted pots filled with Hershey’s kisses, slime and much more. Beatrice collected the goods, priced them and set them up in a festive boutique in Fellowship Hall at First Church so that the Girl Scouts and their siblings could have the opportunity to purchase low-cost holiday gifts for friends and family.

Participants had the opportunity to create cards that were distributed to residents of Suffield House. They were also able to purchase hot chocolate provided by Troop 11963. Proceeds from the sales were used to purchase gifts to donate to children in need.

Everyone had a great time at the Holiday Boutique and, as a bonus, necessary funds were raised for our upcoming spring Camporee, a longtime tradition and favorite event for all Girl Scouts!
