The Pinney Gallery of the Kent Memorial Library will feature work by Westfield artist Christine V. Baran during February.

This award-winning artist, a member of the Tobacco Valley Artists Association, will display watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings and pastel drawings, including new pieces from her “Nature Up Close and Personal” series, including Spring Twirlies 2, Springtime Sunshine, Basket of Tulips and Pink Gerbera Daisy, along with many more of her colorful pieces.

Christine’s love of nature, especially flowers, is the inspiration for her art and photography. She is an avid gardener, which helps her appreciate nature and life. She likes to grow and nurture plants from seed or small plants. She does not look for instant gratification in her gardens, but rather the satisfaction of watching her plants grow, something she also does with her paintings.

Christine V. Baran, married name Christine V. Cox, is an artist, photographer and graphic designer. Christine is currently employed at Tiger Press in East Longmeadow, Mass.

A “Meet The Artist Reception” will be held on Thursday evening, February 9 from 6-8 p.m. It is open to the public.

This show appears through the joint efforts of the Suffield Arts Council, the artist, and the Kent Memorial Library staff.

The Kent Memorial Library is located at 50 N. Main St, Suffield. The hours are Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. -5 p.m.
