Unique Floral Shop Has New Owner

“Ebullient” is a word that describes Sarah Parlos, the new owner of Pentimento, the floral shop on South Main Street. The word means, “cheerful and full of energy.” This was the clear impression I had during our recent interview.

The 19th Amendment

The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granted American women the right to vote and was ratified on August 18, 1920, ending almost a century of protest. Courageous and determined women picketed repeatedly in front of the White House, despite a wholly unsympathetic Woodrow Wilson.
