Standing on the now-immobile draw bridge of the Windsor Locks Canal Trail, Steve Sorrow, founder and president of the Friends of the Windsor Locks Canal, explains how the Enfield Falls Dam diverts Connecticut River water into the Windsor Locks Canal. The Friends were offering guided tours of the Canal Trail to observe the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day on June 4, which turned out to be a great day for hiking.
