Suffield on the Green, an annual tradition hosted by the Friends of Suffield, is fast-approaching! Thousands of folks gather at the Town Green for fun and exciting activities including scrumptious foods, live music and entertainment, a canine contest, a craft fair and many activities for children. Suffield on the Green will take place on Saturday, September 10, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 11, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Suffield Mini Bus will provide FREE shuttle service rides to the Friends of the Library’s book sale at Sacred Heart Church this year! The Mini Bus will also provide rides to Suffield on the Green. For pick-up and drop-off locations, please refer to our website at www.friendsofsuffield.org.
We will be celebrating our 47th year hosting the Craft Fair which will be held at the North Green. Crafters will showcase their talent, skill and love in their original, hand-made pieces. Our popular Canine Contest will take place north of the Craft Fair on Sunday. Remember to sign up your dog for a chance to win a prize at the Canine Contest! Contest timing details can be found at the Friends of Suffield Booth by the Gazebo.
Suffield on the Green will feature entertainment and live music of many genres. There will be a variety of non-profit groups such as Scouts, churches and school groups seeking to raise awareness. Local businesses will present their products and services to the community and representatives of town emergency services will display their contributions to our community. Children will enjoy free age-appropriate activities at various booths. In addition, tickets will be available for purchase for bounce house fun! On the South Green, delicious foods will be served by devoted volunteers of local organizations.
Friends of Suffield president, Lori Sych, expresses, “We are very grateful to our sponsors, the Town of Suffield, and volunteers for their support of this event. The money we raise is given back to the community through grants. So, everyone has a great time while supporting local organizations!”
The free event will take place on the Town Greens, at the intersection of Main Street (Rt.75) and Mountain Road (Rt.168). Contributions are welcome at the Friends of Suffield booth – near the Gazebo where a Silent Auction will take place. You can also get maps of all exhibitor and vendor locations at the Friends of Suffield booth.
