This Labor Day, Monday, September 5, FOFAH will host its annual Farm Fest. This is the family-friendly event held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hilltop Farm on RT 159 in Suffield.
Enjoy seeing farm animals, pony rides, exhibits, demonstrations, and contests, including the famous skillet and hay bale tosses. Highlights include the raptors of ‘Wingmasters’, the reptiles and amphibians of “Adam’s Reptiles” and the Tractor Parade at noon. Look for the Kids Barnyard and other play areas. Exhibitors, crafters and fun activities are part of the day.
There will be great food trucks and there is always something to enjoy for all ages. The admission for Farm Fest 2016 is free, however a $5 donation per car is requested.
Cow Chip Bingo returns this year, but each year’s results are always a little different. The cow determines the winner by making the first “deposit” on one of the squares in the field that has been marked out as a bingo card. Chances on each square are sold for $10. The winner receives $1000. Kids and adults love this event!
We are especially appreciative of all the individuals and businesses that helped to make our annual Bald Eagle Golf Tournament such a success. Many thanks to everyone who golfed, supported us with tee sponsorships and who came out to work at the event. A special thanks goes to Windsor Marketing Group of Suffield who organized this event.
In June, some major landscaping was installed. Baker Nursery of Suffield and Connecticut Mulch Distributors donated plants, landscaping materials and labor for the new landscaping around the Herdsman’s and Administrator’s houses. Their generosity and expertise helps to make Hilltop beautiful.
