The Suffield Woman’s Club (SWC) has an exciting year planned for its members and the community. Stop by the booth at Suffield on the Green for a chance to win a Polish pottery baking dish or plan to purchase your fall mums on September 17 at Suffield Village near Highland Park Market from 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
The year officially begins with the October meeting at Father Ted Hall at Sacred Heart Church on Mountain Road. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Lisa Miller, the GFWC/CT Domestic Violence Committee Chair is the guest speaker. Members and their guests are encouraged to bring an item to be donated to The Network in Enfield.
It is a tradition in January to share the meeting with our sisters from The Women’s Club of Enfield. This year Suffield will be the host. The presenter at that meeting is SWC Vice President Carol Dodd who will guide the attendees through a number of ways to tie a favorite scarf.
Save-the-Date! The Club will hold its annual membership drive on Tuesday, April 11. Ladies are invited to enjoy a light lunch and share laughs while participating in a Kentucky Derby Fascinator Hat Make & Take.
Another Save-the-Date! Tuesday, April 25 is the SWC Fashion Show. This year’s guest fashions come from The Dress Barn in Enfield. The popular event is always a success due to the wonderful raffle donations from local businesses and club members.
Money from our various fundraisers goes to the many organizations and community efforts the Club supports including our first responders, EAA and high school scholarships.
