The Suffield Auxiliary of The Village for Families & Children has done it again! This year, the completely volunteer-run Auxiliary contributed $61,000 to The Village through sales at its Second Chance Shop.

For more than half a century, the Suffield Auxiliary has been supporting The Village’s programs that build a community of strong, healthy families who protect and nurture children.

The Village provides a full range of children’s and adult behavioral health treatment, foster care and adoption, and community support services for children, adults and their families in the Greater Hartford region, serving over 8,700 clients each year.

The Auxiliary supports this life-changing work by selling new and gently used clothes, accessories, antiques and collectibles in its Second Chance Shop. The shop is run by about 130 volunteers.

The three Village Auxiliaries in Glastonbury, Simsbury and Suffield contributed a combined total of $268,440 to The Village this year, and almost $4 million over the past two and half decades.

“I am constantly amazed and gratified by the dedication of more than 400 volunteers in our Glastonbury, Simsbury and Suffield Auxiliaries,” said Galo Rodriguez, The Village President & CEO. “Their contributions of time, treasure and talent make true change possible for the children and families served by The Village.”

The Suffield Second Chance Shop is located at 116 Mountain Road and is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Mondays-Saturdays.
