The West Suffield Village Improvement Association will hold its 10th annual Silver Tea at its Academy Hall building on Saturday, December 3 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Debbie Basdekis and Val Sullivan, who began the tradition in 2007 and have continued it ever since, will be retiring after this year and passing the torch, hopefully, to new volunteers. The Association officers would like to publicly thank them for their enthusiasm, energy and dedication over the last ten years.
The tea is free to local residents, a gift to the community encouraging participants to relax amid the busy holiday season. Donations, however, which support the maintenance of Academy Hall, are most welcome. As well as tea or coffee and delicious baked goodies, there will be a small raffle and a few holiday items for sale. Bring a friend and savor the holiday spirit for a relaxing hour during the bustle of December. Academy Hall, once a West Suffield schoolhouse, is located at 1499 Mountain Road.
