Suffield Little League Majors Win Championship

The Suffield 1 Majors Little League baseball team won the Northern Connecticut Fall Baseball League Championship on October 24. The Suffield 1 team went 12-1. Suffield won the championship by defeating then undefeated Stafford Springs in extra innings by a 3-0 score. Pitchers Sam Beaudoin (6 innings) and Evan Mas (1 inning) combined for the shutout. Strong team defense was also key in Suffield’s win.

In the top of the seventh, Elliot Demers led off with a single and scored the winning run. Successive base hits by Evan Mas, Sam Beaudoin, and Peter Danise (two hits) gave Suffield a three run lead and the win.

The Northern Connecticut Fall baseball league is a wood bat only league. The Majors division included 15 teams from 8 towns. This year was its inaugural season.
