Your child will have a wonderful time while getting ready for Valentine’s Day. Your child will make a variety of fun valentine cards, crafts and goodies. This class will be held on Thurs. Feb. 9 from 3:30-5 p.m. at the McAlister School for Grades 1-5.

I Love You Beary Much!

Make an adorable bear and heart for your Valentine! Each participant will create their own clay bear using JumpingClay while learning about basic shapes and color mixing. Beginners welcome! JumpingClay is an air-drying polymer clay that is 100% safe and non-toxic and completely mess free! This class will be held on Tues. Feb. 14 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the McAlister School for Grades 3-5.

Puppy Love

Make an adorable puppy holding a heart for your Valentine! Each participant will create their own clay puppy using JumpingClay while learning about basic shapes and color mixing. Beginners welcome! This class will be held on Wed. Feb. 15 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Spaulding School for Grades K-2.

Babysitter Safety 101

This is an entry level course intended to teach age appropriate skills necessary to care for children of all ages using team babysitting, mother’s helper and individual babysitting concepts. The course focuses on safety with emphasis on prevention. Basic first aid and obstructed airway management for a conscious choking adult/child and infant will be covered. Other topics include hand washing, diapering, bottle feeding, personal safety, interview skills and many more topics. Course is four hours, bring a snack. Booklet, handouts and Babysitter Safety Certificate of completion included. This class will be held on Tues., Feb. 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association for ages 10-15.

Arctic Adventure

Journey to the North Pole to create your very own walrus – tusks and all! Each participant will create their own clay walrus using JumpingClay while learning about basic shapes and color mixing. Beginners welcome! This class will be held on Wed., Feb. 22 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Spaulding School for Grades K-2.

Gymnastics

This introductory gymnastics program will teach boys and girls the basic skills of gymnastics. We will focus on coordination, flexibility and safety. Participants will learn basic skills to develop a good foundation in gymnastics including: floor exercise, balance beam, bars, rings and vault. For comfort and safety, girls should wear leotards and boys should wear shorts and a t-shirt that can be tucked in. Buckles, snaps or zippers are not allowed. The class will be held on Thursdays and Fridays- February 23, 24 March 2, 3, 9 (snow date Friday, March 10) at the Middle School for Grades 3-5.

Just Chillin’

What’s cooler than penguins sliding off icebergs into the Antarctic? Each participant will create their own clay penguin and iceberg using JumpingClay and Jumping Bubbles while learning about basic shapes and color mixing. All projects will be taken home the same day – just leave them out to dry for 24 hours! JumpingClay is an air-drying polymer clay that is 100% safe and non-toxic and completely mess free! This class will be held on Tues., Feb. 28 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the McAlister School for Grades 3-5.

 “Who’s at fault for your Golf swing?”- Free

Community Lecture

This lecture will teach you how to understand the elements of the “classic” golf swing. We will review current research regarding fitness and golf. We will also review some common swing faults and associated body faults. This lecture is a must for all golfers to help reduce injuries while you are out having fun. This informative lecture will be taught by Mike Bidwell- PTA, ATC, CSCS -Clinical Director, Integrated Rehabilitation Services and will be held on Tuesday, March 14 from 7-7:45 p.m. at the Integrated Rehabilitation Services-230 C. Mountain Road, Upper Level for all ages.
