The public is invited to the Senior Center on May 17 at 7 p.m. to hear Gordon Kenneson speak at the Suffield Historical Society’s May meeting.

Kenneson, a well-known expert on ornamental horticulture and herbology, will tell how Colonial physicians, apothecaries, and barber surgeons used sometimes-poisonous herbs and potions in their practice. He will include the story of Windsor’s Dr, Hezekiah Chafee and his “weeds women.” What poisonous plants might be growing in your garden?
