For any day of the year, Seniors age 50 and older and the visually impaired may reserve transportation.
For membership at $40 a year plus fees for reservations, visually impaired and senior citizens in Suffield may qualify for transportation 365 days a year. They may reserve trips up to 14 miles each way to a particular destination.
Nutmeg Senior Rides volunteers take seniors in private cars to medical appointments and to activities such as church, memorial and funeral services, birthday parties and libraries.
Passengers pay for rides as follows: up to 2 miles, $5 each way; for 3- 5 miles, $10 each way; for 6-7 miles, $14 each way; and 8-13 miles, $19 dollars each way. Trips exceeding 14 miles are charged $25 each way.
