This “celebration of life” brings local communities together in a unified effort, and the public is invited to attend. Last year’s event raised $129,000 with 334 participants and 29 teams. Dr. Ray Burton will be the Opening Speaker, and Suffield First Selectman Melissa Mack will welcome survivors and guests at the Survivor Luncheon.

Relay For Life® events are held around the world as individuals and teams camp out at an athletic track, with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times throughout the evening. This year, participants are hoping to raise $120,000 to enable the American Cancer Society to impact the lives of those touched by cancer within the community by supporting vital, cutting-edge cancer research; providing cancer patients with services such as transportation to treatment, free lodging at our Hope Lodge; and developing a new generation of medicines that help those battling cancer.

Relay For Life® celebrates people who have battled cancer, remembers loved ones lost, and provides participants with an opportunity to fight back against the disease – all aimed at furthering the American Cancer Society’s vision of a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
