After many months of work by our knowledgeable Permanent Building Commission (PBC), the Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Construction Manager-at-Risk and an architect to renovate Bridge Street School (BSS) into a community center have gone out. At the PBC’s meeting on August 3 it was reported that seven architects, one landscape architect and four construction managers attended the mandatory walk-through at BSS on August 1. All bids are due back by August 16, and then the PBC will review the bids, conduct interviews, check references and make a hiring decision in early September.
Once both professionals are hired and on-board the project plans will develop into detail design drawings and project estimates will be refined. Progress is on the horizon.
