The Bike/WalkCT “Discover Connecticut” series introduces more people to the pleasures of biking by hosting events that highlight safe, scenic, interesting, historical, cultural and bike-enjoyable routes. These rides allow cyclists to discover new communities and rediscover their own neighborhoods, representing a day of exploration, fun, and cycling camaraderie.

The Suffield event will take place on Sunday, October 22. Bicycle riders of all levels and abilities are welcome! There are options for 10 mile, 25 mile and 50 mile tours. There will also be a bike safety “rodeo” for kids ages 5 to 12.

The tour will offer riders an opportunity to see the best that Suffield has to offer: featuring the Main Street, Hill Street, and Hilltop Farm historical districts, Babbs Beach, Old Newgate Prison in East Granby, Sunrise Park, River Road, Mapleton Hall and many attractions in between!

All three tours will depart and conclude at Hilltop Farm, where post-tour lunch and entertainment will be provided. On-site registration begins at 8am with tour departures starting at 9am.

Early bird registration for the tour is $40 for adults, and goes up to $50 after October 6. The price is $10 for youth 12 and under. Sign up now on the bikewalkct.org website. Sponsorship opportunities are also available!

Proceeds from the ride will fund advocacy and education work to make Suffield and Connecticut a better place to bike and walk.

Bike Walk Connecticut (BWCT) is changing the culture of transportation through advocacy and education to make bicycling and walking safe, feasible, and attractive for a healthier, cleaner Connecticut.

BWCT was formed in 2005 as the Central Connecticut Bicycle Alliance (CCBA) to advocate for bike-friendly facilities and policies in central Connecticut to benefit recreational and commuter cyclists.
