Everyone’s invited to attend Holidayfest this year at the King House Museum. As always, the old house will be decorated for Christmas, with a welcoming fire in the great kitchen fireplace and a variety of goodies, as well as our traditional Evelyn’s Punch. This year’s special loan exhibit will be Vintage Parlor Games, and while we hope to feature many board games, we’d like to show other samples of how folks enjoyed social interaction playing games in years gone by. The Suffield Historical Society is urging its members and friends to lend or describe games from a wide range of generations. Cherished antiques can be exhibited in glass display cases, if required.

Please call the museum at 860-668-5256 or the curator at 860-471-1915 if you can help. We’d like to hear from potential lenders early in November, so there’ll be time to set up a fine exhibit. Holidayfest is a free event, taking place this year on December 2 and 3 from 11 to 4 each day. The King House Museum is located on South Main Street at the corner of Kent Avenue.
