The ice cutting at the Noble & Cooley Mill Pond in Granville will take place, weather permitting, on Saturday, February 3. You can learn how to handle the antique tools used for cutting ice before refrigerators. Dress warmly and wear ice grips if you have them. Dennis Picard from Storrowtown Village will teach you the necessary skills. The Noble & Cooley Museum will also be open.
This program is jointly sponsored by the aforementioned museum, the Suffield Historical Society and the Suffield Land Conservancy. Snow date is February 4. Call Bob Stewart at 860-668-2928 for the latest ice conditions.
