Friends of Suffield Grant Applications

Attention Local Organizations! Are you involved with a non-profit organization that could use a little extra funding? The Friends of Suffield is pleased to announce its 2018 call for grant requests. You can find applications at www.FriendsofSuffield.org; forms must be submitted no later than April 1.

Each year, the Friends of Suffield donates the proceeds raised through activities and special events, most notably Suffield on the Green & Craft Fair, back to local non-profit groups and projects that enhance our community. We’ve awarded grants to each of the public schools in our town, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, the Suffield Emergency Aid Association, Friends of the Farm at Hilltop, the Library summer program, and the Suffield Housing Authority, to name just a few.

What Grants Fund: If you’re wondering how our grant monies have been spent, here are some recent examples:

Softball and track equipment for schools

Summer concert series

Picnic tables for Parks & Rec.

Books/CDs for kindergarten classes

Outdoor benches for senior housing

How to Apply: If your non-profit group would like to submit an application for consideration, complete a “disbursement request form,” available on our website: www.FriendsofSuffield.org, beginning March 1. On the left side of the home page, click on the tab called “How to Request a Grant.” It will take you to a page with the request form. Please include a very specific description of what your requested funds would be used for, as well as all of your contact information. Completed request forms must be postmarked or received by email by April 1, 2018; no late submissions will be accepted.

All applications will be reviewed by Friends of Suffield members. Applicants who are selected will be invited to our May meeting, at a small ceremony where grants will be distributed, and we’ll celebrate the occasion with light refreshments and take a group photo. Please contact Amy LaTeano at amyadmin@sbcglobal.net with any questions.

We are proud of the work and accomplishments made by previous grant recipients, and we look forward to reviewing this year’s requests!
