Christmas in Suffield

Christmas in Suffield is a unique experience. No other community in our area features multiple Christmas fairs on the same day. This year five fairs will be held on November 3, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

This year First Church will be offering a luncheon of soups, sandwiches, and desserts in Fellowship Hall. The Ebenezer Gay room will feature our craft vendors, a bake sale, attic treasures, a country store featuring Vermont cheeses, slab bacon and other delicacies staffed by the Men’s Fellowship, and a Children’s Shopping Boutique, book sale, breakfast bar and snack bar. Outside the Ebenezer Gay room, there will be a raffle of theme baskets all attractively wrapped for holiday giving.

Across the street at the Second Baptist Church, you will find their Fellowship Hall teaming with activity. They will be selling plants, Christmas decorations, stitchery and knitted items, costume jewelry and a bake sale which also features jams, jellies and preserves. There will be attic treasures upstairs in the activity room. A luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, soup, clam chowder, apple crisp and coffee.

The Suffield Fire Department Auxiliary at the Mountain Road main firehouse will be alive with activity selling jewelry, doll furniture, hand-spun textiles, dish gardens, items made from recycled materials, core ice/heat packs and homemade jam, jellies, dips and fudge. Don’t forget to pick up special goodies at the Firehouse Bake Shop.

Sacred Heart Women’s Guild will host its Annual Christmas Bazaar as part of Christmas In Suffield. Many different crafters, baked goods, delicious chili from Suffield Pizza – for luncheon enjoyment at the Cafe or take out will be featured this year as well as our Treasures and Trinkets area. The alpacas will be back this year so that bazaar goers can see the source of the beautiful socks, scarves and sweaters on sale. All the crafters, as well as many local and area businesses and individuals, have donated gift items for the raffle. The proceeds from the Christmas Bazaar have been dedicated to the Women’s Guild Scholarship Fund. In the spring, eligible high school seniors will receive grants from the funds raised at this annual event. For more information, please call Guild President, Elizabeth Grigoriou at 860-668-4246. The Bazaar is held in the parish hall, which is located at 446 Mountain Road (Route 168).

West Suffield Congregational Church will again have their SERRV International Bazaar featuring artisans from around the world, a bake sale and white elephant table. There will also be other vendor tables offering holiday gifts and a teacup auction. Take a moment to sit back and savor hot soup and fresh bread and top it off with a piece of warm apple pie sold by the slice with a cup of steaming coffee.

Stop in and enjoy part of your day with all the organizations.
