The Suffield High School swim program is hosting a fundraising event on Saturday, October 12 at 9:30 a.m. The 1st annual Wildcats Run and Swim for Cancer will be held at Windsor Locks High School, where the boys and girls swim teams compete during their regular seasons. Wildcats swimmers and coaches will host the event, giving our community an opportunity to participate in two healthy activities while raising money for a good cause. The run will be a 5K, or roughly 3 miles, followed by a 300 yard swim (12 laps). The cost will be $10 for students and $25 for adults, a tee shirt is included with paid registration by October 1. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a worthy cancer cause chosen by the swim teams!

The girls and boys teams have enjoyed much success as we apply the many lessons learned in the pool. The program’s hope is to create an annual fundraising event to offer a community activity as we work towards being a self-sufficient sport. Please consider participating or simply donating! All necessary information is available on our website at suffieldswimming.org, and keep an eye out for a Facebook event, as well. Please contact head coach and Suffield Middle School teacher Kevin Mattia with any questions at kmattia@suffield.org. We appreciate your consideration, and go Wildcats!
