Tom Carr, pastor of Second Baptist Church in Suffield, 100 N. Main St. will be leading a series of 90 minute exploratory presentations about humanity’s “New Story.”

The first gathering will be in the Kneece Chapel at Second Baptist Church on Monday, September 9 at 7 p.m. Meetings will convene, subsequently, every Monday through October 28 aside from October 14, Columbus Day. Everyone is invited to participate in each of these uniquely fascinating forums.

Anyone who cares about human well-being and the health of life on Earth will not want to miss this.

In addition to his own expertise, Tom will draw upon the wisdom and insights of scientists and other theologians such as Mary Evelyn Tucker, John Grim, Thomas Berry, Brian Swimme, to name but a few.

To borrow from the writings of Mary Evelyn Tucker, we have a responsibility to lead ourselves “out of the alienation of modern industrial life and beyond the stale forms of religious life; out of the fragmentation of social communities and into a more integrating and comprehensive framework.” It is time to bring our civilization into better alignment with one another and the natural processes that birth and nourish life.

Second Baptist Church is excited to host these upcoming forums. Those who plan to participate in the first session at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 9, are encouraged to register in advance by calling or emailing Alison Hardy-Dusto, at the Second Baptist Church Office. mail: Office@secondbaptistsuffield.org; Phone: 860-668-1661.
