The Green Team of the Second Baptist Church in collaboration with the Kent Memorial Library and Sierra Club Connecticut will present the movie Paris to Pittsburgh on Sunday, March 8, at 3:00 p.m. in the Common Room of the Second Baptist Church.
The film looks at states, businesses and citizens taking action and delving into the social and economic impacts of climate change-fueled disasters coast to coast, including America’s heartland. The film features voices from local leaders and everyday Americans presenting the stories behind climate-related recovery and resiliency.
The film also looks at the efforts to reduce carbon emissions by the city of Pittsburgh and features Mayor Bill Peduto’s comments and frustration over President Trump’s decision to withdraw the US from the Paris Climate Agreement in June 2017. The film also examines the changes Pittsburgh has made towards energy efficiency. Other locations featured in the film include Puerto Rico, California, Iowa, Florida and New Jersey. A member of Sierra Club Connecticut will lead a question/answer session following the film.
