Important Kent Memorial Library Update 03/16/2020 – Full Closure

Print More

Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, The Kent Memorial Library will be closed to the public until further notice. Given developments over the weekend, and recommendations from the CDC and North Central District Health Department, we will not be providing our Express Pick Up service at this time.

The Kent Memorial Library staff is dedicated to serving the community in creative ways; however, we all need to do what we can to “flatten the curve.” The health and safety of our patrons and community members are our top priority. Limiting unessential travel and increasing social distancing are some of the best practices to exercise.

Items that are currently checked out to patrons will still be eligible for long-term loan until May 1st, and all overdue fines will be waived at this time.

To stay informed and up-to-date, please consider registering for our Town News over at: https://www.suffieldct.gov/our-town/newsOur First Selectman, Melissa Mack, is working diligently with her team to provide us with guidance moving forward. We need to be responsible and minimize as much contact as possible.

We still encourage our patrons to check out our variety of digital resources: eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, movies, and music available through Overdrive, RBDigital, Bookflix, and Hoopla. Scholastic Books is also offering a free resource for parents with children facing school closures called Scholastic Learn From Home, providing about 20 days worth of projects, virtual field trips, articles and stories, and so much more.
