Dear Suffield Community & Town Employees,

We hope this letter finds you and your families well and enjoying beautiful spring days. Today, May 20th, marks the beginning of the State of Connecticut officially reopening!

In Suffield, tennis courts are now open (playing fields, basketball courts and playgrounds still remain closed Sector Rules and Certification for May 20th Reopen). To support our local restaurants, the Town expedited its temporary approval process and we are pleased that some of Suffield’s restaurants will be expanding their amenities by offering limited outdoor dining.

The reopening effort involves a staged approach that weighs risks and makes measured recommendations while continuing to monitor new COVID-19 cases. We are grateful that this day has finally arrived and urge compliance, asking residents to practice the same thoughtful approach while exercising personal responsibility and good judgment. As we now move forward from this difficult time with varying opinions of what is right for our community and our economy, please consider the safety of not only yourself and your family, but the safety of your neighbors as well.

In advance of Wednesday’s reopening, the town has already fielded many calls regarding lack of compliance with the Governor’s Executive Orders. In order to centralize these concerns, address them appropriately, and best focus resources, we ask that residents email feedback to suffieldreopens@suffieldct.gov. Follow up will proceed as permissible.
