SWC Masks Up and Carries On

It will be different. Members won’t be side-by-side. But Suffield Woman’s Club (SWC) will be soldiering on. First, plans for the program year include recognizing our local first responders, those heroes who look after town residents year-round and who deserve our appreciation. If you hear a loud hoot and holler in town, it’s probably from club members saying thank you to them! In October, the club will be participating in the General Federation of Women’s Club’s (GFWC) Stuff-a-Purse program. Purses will be filled with what many women consider necessities: tissues, Chapstick, pens, small tablets, safety pins, pill cases, etc. Once filled, they will be donated to The Network Against Domestic Abuse in Enfield in October, which is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The SWC shortened program book will feature brief biographies of club members. If the club can’t gather for monthly meetings, the intent is to get to know each other a little better in a fresh way.

Members will continue to wear masks, wash their hands and practice social distancing. Apart, but together in purpose.
