Summer Reading Raffle Baskets are back! This year’s Summer Reading Program returns on June 21. Kent Memorial Library partners with local Suffield businesses each year to offer a wide variety of prizes and programming and to celebrate our community. This year’s theme is Tails & Tales, and here’s just a peek at our line-up:

Our Children’s Storytime goes on a field trip to Roaring Acres Alpaca Farm on June 23. Did you know there’s an alpaca farm in Suffield? It’s been around for over eight years!

Have you enjoyed your walks up and down Main Street? Do you have any four-legged family members who are eager to make some new furry friends? Bring your Bark Twain, Sir Arthur Canine Doyle, Margaret Atwoof, and other pawsome pups down to the Main Street Courtyard of the Library on June 24 and 25!

Then we’ll hear the Tale of a Shake from the Nutrition Shack of Suffield, a brand new local business which opened up right before the world went into lockdown. How are they thriving now? Find out on July 7!

We also look beyond our Summer Reading Program to foster local partnerships. As we continue to welcome our community in our building, we are eager to provide resources and support through an exciting new joint effort. Beginning on June 22, Kent Memorial Library will be hosting monthly Social Services Consultations with Suffield Community Aid’s Pat Beeman M.S.W. With over 30 years of experience, Pat is looking forward to consulting with you.

If you’ve ever wondered how you could help take care of your older parents, if you have questions about Medicare/Medicaid, counseling services, or just want to find out more information, this is a great way to learn what’s available. Appointments for Social Services Consultations are available at the Kent Memorial Library on the third Tuesday of the month, and are reservable through the Library’s website, or by calling either the Library or Suffield Community Aid (860-668-1986).

Please continue to contact us by phone (860-668-3896), email at, and social media on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube. For more details, please visit our website at
