Want to Dig Out and Don’t Know How? Is Clutter Creating Stress?

SCA is offering a free, 16-week virtual workshop for folks who have too much stuff and want to declutter their lives. The book, Buried in Treasures, will serve as the guide for facilitators and participants. Activities include exercises from the book dealing with acquisition, discarding and organization as well as homework between sessions. To find out more about this workshop, contact Patricia Beeman, MSW, at 860-668-1986: patb@suffieldcommunityaid.org

Would You Benefit from Clinical Counseling Support?

SCA is partnering with Kathryn Tkacz, MA, LMFT of Lightheart Institute, LLC, to provide counseling for residents who are experiencing challenges and seeking the help of a licensed therapist. SCA can assist with the cost of co-pays for folks with insurance. For those without insurance, free, limited counseling sessions will be covered. If you have a trusted clinician you are already working with, call 860-668-1986 to discuss options for financial help.

Would Adult Day Care Help You or Your Caregiver?

SCA is partnering with the Windsor Caring Connection to ensure that our residents have access to quality adult day care. SCA is providing introductory subsidies to encourage participation. The Caring Connection is open M-F 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and provides socialization, structure, medication management and personal care with on-site nursing. It also provides daytime respite for the caregiver.

Are There Places You Want To Go, But Transportation Is Not Available?

SCA is partnering with Nutmeg Senior Rides to help financially qualified seniors, age 70 and older, get to where they want to go when the Suffield Mini-Bus is not available to take them. Nutmeg Senior Rides is door-to-door transportation, for any purpose, 365 days a year. Call 860-668-1986 to see if you qualify for an SCA subsidy.
