Absentee ballot voting is available for eligible voters. The ballots will be available October 1. There is regular absentee balloting, emergency absentee balloting and permanently physically disabled absentee balloting. The requirement for supervised absentee balloting in nursing homes and convalescent homes has been eliminated, due to the COVID-19 risk to public health.

COVID-19 may be used as a valid reason for requesting an absentee ballot for the November 2 municipal election. Applications are available on the town’s website, at https://portal.ct.gov/sots and in the Town Clerk’s Office.

Return absentee ballots and applications to the Town Clerk, either in person, by mail or by placing it into the secure drop box outside the Town Hall, 83 Mountain Road. Use of the drop box will end at 8 p.m. on Election Day. Please, do not bring an absentee ballot to the polling place!

The deadline for withdrawing an absentee ballot is October 29, 5 p.m. and it must be done with the Town Clerk.

For information on absentee voting, contact the Town Clerk at 860-668-3880.
