Kent Memorial Library made the transition from summer to back to school and into the fall season last month.

Adult services held another great reading challenge with the theme of Overlooked & Underrated Titles and began a morning walking program that moves on through the end of October. Find more information at suffield-library.org.

More adult programming in October includes Halloween fun as well as Books & Beyond with Alka Joshi and her new novel The Secret Keeper of Jaipur. In November, keep an eye out for some fun celebrations like Diwali!

Teen Services and Suffield Youth Services brought a Mental Health Check-In Day to Suffield Middle School. Created by the Jordan Porco Foundation, the program focused on identifying and celebrating positivity and the impact on wellness.

KML also handed out new library cards to 8th graders and shared a message of belonging, encouraging students to come to the library after school for homework time, programs and friendship space.

The Children’s staff continues to plan surprise celebrations like handing out Play-Doh for National Play-Doh day and offering Story Times and Rhyme Times for our Little Patrons.

Keep an eye on the library website and Facebook page to see our schedule of upcoming Halloween festivities and additional Story Times and Rhyme Times.
