Proprietor Michelle Girard adjusts a display at the new place to shop in Suffield: The Broadleaf Gift Shop.

Saturday October 16 at 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. Michelle Girard, owner of the Broadleaf Gift Shop, had a small reception to welcome people to the new store, located at 1150 South Street (Route 75). Many enjoyed the hot cider and cider donuts from Clark Farms in Granby, and Julie the Garden Fairy from Willow View Farm in West Suffield was there with a pop-up flower shop.

Many of the items in the gift shop are by local makers around New England. The website is broadleafgift.com, but you will find only a small sample of what is actually in the store.

Some of the products include pottery, teas, floral and infused honey, maple syrup, infused syrups, bath bombs, fragrances, stationery, beautiful bird houses, a whole section of children’s products and much more. One of the jewelry makers is a small business that crafts meaningful and inspirational jewelry called Pyrrha.

If you were unable to attend the reception, I hope you have an opportunity to stop by and visit the shop, you will not be disappointed.

Please continue to support our local businesses.
